The New Deal
The Great Depression caused massive ramifications throughout the entire United States. After such a prosperous and easygoing decade of the 20's, the United States was hit had with the crash of the stock market. The widespread panic caught the United States ablaze, and looked to be spiraling the country as a whole out of control, to where it looked almost impossible to recover. However, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt thought otherwise. His "New Deal" which he implemented in his first few years in office, sought to bring the U.S. back to its 20's state of mind. Since 1934, the FHA has insured over 35 million home mortgages, and was one of the many agencies implemented within FDR's New Deal that helped him achieve this ultimate goal.
